Drew Braxton Ridout
February 21, 1970 – March 13, 2013
Created in honor of Mr. Drew Braxton Ridout, the Clash at the Crossroads “Drew’s Dream” award package was affectionately designed in conjunction with Drew’s family and the Rhythm & Q’s team to continue his legacy and passion for music and the arts. A native of South Carolina, Drew graduated from West Florence High School in neighboring Florence, South Carolina. A musician in his own right, Drew began to uncover his exceptional musical talents while in junior high school. He taught himself guitar, was a gifted singer, and a notable songwriter. He absolutely loved performing live, and he was a member of several bands over the course of his lifetime, often with his brother Pearce. Their last band was “Tanglespeak,” which featured Drew on guitar & vocals until his untimely death in 2013. Continuing his memory and zeal for live music, Drew’s Dream is made possible in thanks to his family.
